When you’re stuck inside all day it can be tempting to lounge around and not get anything done. Especially in this pandemic, many people have found themselves in this situation. However, studies have shown that you should be getting at least 60 minutes of exercise each day. It can be difficult to find the motivation to achieve this amount of exercise each day, so here is a compiled list of five ways to make sure you’re staying active during this pandemic!

1. Walk or Run Outside

Walking or running outside is a great way to get exercise while also getting fresh air! Going for a jog around your neighborhood, a bike path, or a track are great ways to safely give your body the exercise it needs. If you’d like, you could even ask a friend or family member to join you. This way, both of you can get exercise and have fun by doing it together!

2. Bike

Biking is a great aerobic exercise that helps strengthen your legs. You can go on bike trails, bike rides around your neighborhood, or simply bike up and down your street! You can even reward yourself while also motivating yourself by biking to your favorite restaurant or fast food place, getting some food, and biking back!

3. Walk Dogs

Walking a dog can provide great motivation to get outside! Walking just for the sake of exercise can be easy to talk yourself out of. By walking the dog, you can get some exercise outdoors, while giving the dog a chance to get outside too. If you don’t have a dog you can try walking a friend or neighbor’s dog. This could also be a great opportunity to earn some extra cash!

4. Go for a Hike

Hiking is a great activity to do all year round. Whether you’re hiking up a mountain or through the woods, it’s a fabulous way to get some steps! Pack some snacks and water and make an adventure out of it. It’s probably not something you do everyday, so it’s a great way to get out of your everyday routine and try something new!

5. Do an Online Workout

Between YouTube, Pinterest, Google, and hundreds of workout apps that are available on your phone, there are endless amounts of workouts to be found on the internet! You can try a monthly workout challenge or try something with a friend. You don’t have to do something too hard, every bit counts so long as you’re trying your best and doing what feels right for you.
